Bill Fink
Bill Fink is a travel writer with professional experience laying sod, evaluating cream cheese, and emptying porta-potties. He also writes for publications including the San Francisco Chronicle, Chicago Sun Times, Islands Magazine, Lonely Planet, and Frommer’s.
Bill has covered such topics as skiing, professional trash dump loincloth volleyball in Burma, and bunker tours in Albania. Travelers’ Tales Best Travel Writing 2006 included Bill’s story about the zen insights of buying burgers at McDonalds around the world. He received the gold award from the Society of American Travel Writers for best foreign travel story of 2009. Although he has written for several travel humor anthologies, a supervisor once downgraded Bill’s ranking for sense of humor from “excellent” to merely “above average” on a job review.
